Motivational Quotes at North East Police Academy (NEPA) for inspiration

When you walk around the North East Police Academy (NEPA) campus, you will find many motivational quotes attached to lamp posts on the side of the roads in the campus. You may know the pain the trainees go through, and I am sure these quotes have inspired one or two.

Here are a few of those motivational quotes I managed to click when I visited.

Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard

A talented person who does not put in consistent effort can be surpassed by someone less gifted but more disciplined and determined. In the long run, dedication, perseverance, and continuous improvement often matter more than raw talent.

LET US NOT PRAY TO BE SHELTERED FROM DANGERS
BUT TO BE FEARLESS WHEN FACING THEM.

“Let us not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless when facing them” teaches us that challenges are a natural part of life. Instead of asking for a life free from difficulties, we should seek courage, strength, and resilience to confront them. True growth and character are built not by avoiding hardships, but by facing them with bravery and confidence.

GO AS LONG AS YOU CAN.
AND THEN TAKE ANOTHER STEP.

“Go as long as you can. And then take another step.” reminds us that progress often comes from pushing just a little beyond our limits. When we feel exhausted or ready to give up, growth happens in the moment we choose to continue anyway. Success is built not in giant leaps, but in the extra step we take when we think we cannot go any further.

I never lose. Either I win, or I learn.
“I never lose. Either I win, or I learn.” reflects a growth mindset toward life and challenges. When we succeed, we gain achievement; when we fail, we gain experience and wisdom. Every outcome becomes valuable, turning setbacks into lessons that prepare us for greater success in the future.

WISH FOR IT.

WORK FOR IT.

"Wish for it. Work for it" emphasizes that dreams remain fantasies unless supported by action. Wishing shows desire, but only consistent effort, discipline, and perseverance can turn goals into reality. Instead of waiting for opportunities or luck, we must take responsibility, put in the work, and actively create the future we want.

The North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA) is a premier police training institution of the Government of India under the Ministry of Home Affairs, located in Umsaw Village, Ri-Bhoi District, Meghalaya. It was established in 1978 (initially as the Regional Police Training College) to provide professional basic and in-service training to police officers—especially directly recruited Sub-Inspectors and Deputy Superintendents of Police from the North Eastern States and other parts of the country.
