Christian believers in Kohima gathered at the Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at WWII Cemetery in Kohima to mark the
resurrection of Jesus Christ from the death more than 2000 years ago on Easter Sunday, the 16th of April 2017.

The World War II Cemetery in Kohima, Nagaland is a
popular tourist place in Kohima where visitors from abroad also pay a
visit including relatives of war veterans. There are no traces of any
buildings from that era but concrete white lines mark the tennis court
which used to be there.
The cemetery is maintained by the "Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), and there are 1,420 Commonwealth burials of the Second World War at this cemetery, and a memorial to an additional 917 Hindu and Sikh soldiers who were cremated in accordance with their faith.
